Welcome to UOWWelcome and congratulations on choosing to study at the University of Wollongong. We hope your time with us will be an enriching, satisfying experience that will help you achieve your career and personal goals. Accepting your offer and Enrolment is very important as it signifies the starting point of your relationship with the University. On Enrolment Day you will receive advice about planning your course and other information to help you get started with your degree. The enrolment process is quite simple and there will be many UOW staff to help you on the day. Please read the information relating to your acceptance and enrolment carefully as it will help you to be better prepared. How do I accept an offer?UAC applicants: If you received an offer through UAC you must accept your offer on-line at http://www.uac.edu.au/. To accept online please click on "For instructions on how to respond to your offer" from the UAC offer page and follow the prompts. Accepting an offer does not stop you from being considered in subsequent offer rounds (unless it is your first preference, in which case you would have to change your preferences to be considered for another course - go to www.uac.edu.au/undergraduate/faq/change-preference.shtml for more information). You do not need to send in the acceptance slip attached to the bottom of your offer letter - we will collect this from you on Enrolment Day. Please ensure that you bring your "Offer of Admission" letter with you when you attend Enrolment Day. Applicants who applied directly to the University: To accept your offer, click here and complete the online acceptance form. Please ensure that you bring your offer letter with you on Enrolment Day. How do I defer? If you wish to defer your offer please do not enrol in your course at this time. You can defer most UOW courses for a maximum of one year and no deferment fees are charged. All applications for deferment must be received by 31 March 2012. Deferments are normally granted for 12 months although you can request a six month deferment and commence your course in Spring session 2012. Please check here to confirm the intake availability for your degree. To access the on-line deferment application, click here. Once you have lodged your request you will receive an automated reply confirming the receipt of your deferment application. Please note: if your course of study includes a TAFE component, you should also contact the relevant TAFE campus to advise them of your request to defer.
The University will send you a new offer letter, signifying that your deferment has been approved, and it will indicate your new commencement date. Your offer letter will be emailed to you as an attachment after 31 March therefore it is important that you check your email address regularly during this time. It is also important to save a copy of your emailed offer as you will be required to present this letter at the time of enrolment.
If you don’t have access to the internet you should write to our UniAdvice office, requesting a deferment (please enclose a copy of your offer letter). Send your request to: Deferment Request UniAdvice University of Wollongong Wollongong NSW 2522

You will receive advice about planning your course, timetable and other information to help you get started with your degree.
Restrictions on campus/subject enrolment Your offer will be for a specific campus and you are expected to enrol into subjects offered at that campus. Restrictions may also apply to enrolment in subjects for degrees or faculties other than that for which you have received an offer. Talk to an academic adviser on Enrolment Day for further advice.
Choosing your subjects Faculties either run information sessions on Enrolment Day to assist you with your subject selection or have academic advisers available to offer one-to-one assistance to choose your subjects. On Enrolment Day you should arrive at the time indicated for your degree so that you have sufficient time to collect your enrolment package and move onto the relevant venue. Subject Numbers 100, 200, 300 and 400 level subjects refer to first, second, third and fourth year subjects respectively. There will be enrolment helpers to assist you through the process on Enrolment Day. After enrolling, you are responsible to ensure that you are correctly enrolled at all times. This involves making sure that you enrol in subjects at the appropriate times and withdraw before session census dates from any subjects you no longer wish to study, thus ensuring you do not incur fees for the subject. To allow you to manage your enrolment, you will have access via Student OnLine Services (SOLS). You will be given information about SOLS and how to self manage your enrolment on enrolment.
